BCOS’s Kitchen “Green Waste” Collection Project

Creating compost is easy! Just combine organic material with a little moisture and wait a few months – and you will have a rich pile of valuable compost to add to your garden, flower boxes or fruit trees.

BCOS has twenty “Compost Pails” which we will be lending out to everyone interested in contributing to our “Kitchen Compost Barrel”, located just inside the BCOS garden gate at the School.

If you would like a share of the finished compost, when it is ready, just let us know and we will bag some up for you!

RULES:
(1) What you add & and don’t add to your pail is very important.
YES: raw fruit and vegetable scraps, coffee grounds (& filters), tea
bags, egg shells, peanut shells, and cut flowers.
NO: meat products, dairy products, processed food, grease (or
twist ties, rubber bands, plastic, ...).

(2) Bring your pail to the School whenever you like and empty it into the “Kitchen Compost Barrel”- and give it a few turns.

(3) The “Garden Compost Pile” is for School grounds & BCOS garden waste only.
[Call Deb, Dianne or Nancy for more information or to arrange to pick up your “Compost Pail” at the School.]
